Portugal Schengen Visa Costs:
In the first instance, it is necessary to obtain a Type C Visa, which allows free transit and short stays in the Schengen Area, having a validity (maximum 90 days) per semester and allowing single or multiple entries. The regular application fee applicable is 60 Euros and a reduced fee or zero cost applies only in special situations.
The Portugal Schengen Visa can be requested:
Visa applications for Portugal Schengen visas must be submitted to the diplomatic mission of the country which is the sole destination of the journey(s). Alternatively, if it is not possible to determine the main destination, the country whose border the applicant intends to cross to enter the Schengen area.
The required documentation:
- Application form duly completed and signed.
- Recent passport photo.
- Original and copy of passport valid for at least 3 months (exceptionally up to 6 months) from the date of departure, cumulatively copy of previous visas.
- Original and copy of the return flight ticket or flight reservation document.
- Original and copy of hotel reservation.
- Original and copy of travel medical insurance policy, valid for the entire Schengen Area during the trip or trips and with a minimum coverage of 30,000 Euros for medical and hospital care plus repatriation for emergency medical reasons.
- Original and copy proof of employment and salary, or equivalent.
- Original and copy of the last 3 monthly bank statements (exceptionally up to 6 months), which must prove that the applicant has sufficient financial means to support themselves during the trip.
If travelling on business, an invitation letter from an organisation in the host country may also be required for the Portugal Schengen visa. This letter must contain the full name and address of the inviting entity, the name and position of the person signing it and, in the case of the person invited, the name and surnames, date of birth, sex, nationality, passport number, dates and purpose of the trip and number of visits required.
